Softball Slapping Tips (3 Keys To Get That Perfect Bounce)

 In tashatips

Hey Game Changers,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I’m coming off a high, because my team I coach in Japan just clinched the All-Japan tournament. We had some REALLY tough games, but managed to come out on top by way of a full team effort. Needless to say, I’m a HAPPY COACH!

This week we are going to talk about getting the perfect bounce as a slapper. Getting the perfect bounce is an essential for a slapper but honestly one of the hardest to learn. The timing aspect is the hardest to learn as well as figuring out your hands.

In this #Tashatip I share the following  tips:

  1. Let the ball travel- So that you can get yourself in the best position to get on top of the ball
  2. Get your first bounce close to home plate to allow you more time to get down the line
  3. Focus on hitting the back top of the ball so that you can create backspin and get some hang time

Once you start to build your muscle memory with getting on top of the ball, it really becomes second nature and can be a ton of fun challenging defenses. There really is NO WAY to defend that ball that gets a ton of hang time!

Good luck out there! Let me know if this tip helped you!
